All about the classes!
Acrylic Ink Abstract Canvas Workshop. This workshop has very limited spaces, a technique focused experience with a small group of students. Each student will receive a 60cm x 50cm canvas to create a beautiful, flowing abstract piece with acrylic inks. The class is guided with examples, tutorials, practices, and ongoing advice throughout the process. We use professional quality Derivan acrylic inks for premium effects, and a special, professional art studio experience. Working in layers, our heat gun will be utilised for drying in between each part of the process. Each artist will produce a unique, flowing, colourful, contemporary abstract piece.
Christmas Crafts Creative Workshop! Create beautiful decorations for the Christmas tree, complete a Christmas themed colouring sheet, and create a step-by-step drawing of a Christmas Elf. Lots of festive fun!
Fairy Wand Workshop. In this workshop we will start the session with some fairy colouring, to give everyone a chance to get comfortable in the space, and get the creative ideas flowing! Then each artist will have the opportunity to create two magical wooden fairy wands, which we will paint with acrylic paints, and decorate with ribbons, sequins, glitter, and gems. Magical, beautiful keepsakes to take home for display, and imaginative play.
Fairy Door Workshop. We ran this workshop last holidays with great success, it's so much fun. This workshop includes three stages of activities. The session is started with fairy themed colouring. Then we paint and decorate our hinged fairy doors with acrylic paints, sequins, glitter, and gems. A small artwork of a fairy scene, is created with pencils, and markers, and attached to the inside of the door opening. The fairy doors are magical, special keepsakes for the artists to cherish.
Sea Turtle Painting Workshop. This workshop starts off with some sea turtle colouring to relax and develop ideas for our canvas designs. The sea turtle on canvas will be sketched with a tutorial of shapes and details to add, we will then add unique features in the background such as seaweed, fish, and ripples in the water. Our dedigns will be painted with acrylic paints. Tips, painting techniques, and ideas will be shared in the process.
Ocean Potion Workshop. This class is messy, fun, creative, and playful. This workshop includes three stages of activities. The session starts with colouring and design work to develop our ideas for the sensory potion jars we will create. We then experiment with bicarbonate soda, and vinegar fizzy potions, and begin to assemble our potion jars with coloured water, seashells, glitter, sand, gems, beads, and other ocean themed objects. We glue the lids on. The third part of the workshop is decorating our potion bottles with beaded tassles, a label, and ocean themed stickers. This is a very tactile, hands on workshop, always lots of fun!
Mermaid Illustration Workshop. Join us in the studio for mermaid colouring, and a step by step guided tutorial for drawing a mermaid. Artists will be encouraged to add their own unique details and background designs. The illustrations will be rendered with pencils, and watercolour paints. Feedback, advice, and guidance is provided for our little artists to create a beautiful mermaid illustration.
Rock Painting Workshop. Rock Painting is always a fun activity. At Forster Art Studio, we love to use acrylic dot painting pens for exciting, shiny effects. We also have acrylic paints, and paint pens to use, and plant of rocks to choose from. This session in the studio includes some guidance and development of techniques, but there is lots of room for creative expression and for the children to explore their own ideas and designs. Rock designs can be taken home or added to our little rock garden to passion some happiness in our Fairways shops community.
Beaded Jewellery Making Workshop. Come along to create bracelets, necklaces, and anklets with our premium quality jewellery making materials. Artists are welcome to make as many pieces as they like in our 1 hour workshop, we encourage crafting for themselves, and also to make some pieces for friends and family too. This workshop includes tutorials on knot tying, wire cutting, and wire bending. Premium supplies and a huge selection of beads and charms will be available for use.
Terracotta Pot Painting Workshop. Each artist will have a terracotta pot to paint with any design they like. We will start with sketching on our ideas, and use acrylic paints to create eye catching, colourful artworks on the terracotta surface. We will finish the workshop with filling our pots with soil and a succulent cutting for a fantastic keepsake to take home and artists can watch the plant grow and change in their creative pieces.
Abstract Portrait Workshop. Abstract portraits are always a favourite at Forster Art Studio. We love quirky, fun, and units details and draw inspiration from many artists. This workshop includes inspiration, a guided tutorial, and plenty of encouragement to be in the flow of creativity, and to embrace all of the weird and wonderful ideas! We will sketch out our designs with pencil, then used mixed media to decorate, layer, and add character. Mediums to choose from are: water soluble crayons, watercolour paints, collage, markers, and pencils. Each artwork will be completely unique and personalised.
Beach Bag Design Workshop. We’ll begin with beach-themed colouring to spark ideas and inspiration. Then, each artist will receive their own cotton tote bag to decorate and paint using colourful Sharpies and fabric paints. From seashells to starfish, waves to sunshine, the designs are all about celebrating the beach and summer fun. Focused on self-expression, beach-inspired creativity, and socialising, this workshop gives children the chance to make something practical and unique they can proudly use and show off.
Pirate Illustration Workshop. Join us in the studio for Pirate themed colouring, to get our ideas flowing and style in to the studio. We'll work together with a step by step guided tutorial for drawing a pirate. Artists will be encouraged to add their own unique details and background designs, like treasure chests, or a parrot. The illustrations will be rendered with pencils, and watercolour paints. Feedback, advice, and guidance is provided for our little artists to create a unique pirate illustration.
Create Together Sessions:
For the first time, these holidays we have some workshops available for parent bookings with your child or children! The sessions can be booked for just children, or you can book an extra place for yourself or a grandparent to join in! The price is the same for child and adult bookings.
